International
logistics is an international commodity transaction or exchange
that physically moves materials to overcome the spatial and temporal
distances between production and consumption when production and
consumption are carried out independently in two or more countries.
Activities to complete the ultimate goal of international commodity
transactions. In a broad sense, international logistics refers to the
inflow and outflow of various forms of materials between countries. In a
narrow sense, international logistics refers to the logistics activities
related to a country's import and export trade.
Domestic logistics refers to the logistics activities carried out within
the country's territory to serve its overall interests, and it is an
essential aspect of the national economy.
International logistics is essentially the extension and further
expansion of domestic logistics and is the "circulation of goods" that
crosses national boundaries and expands the scope of circulation.
However, although international logistics have specific domestic
logistics attributes, due to its particular circulation, there are still
many differences from domestic logistics, mainly in the following
aspects:
>>>>First, the logistics environment is very different
International logistics is oriented to countries and regions worldwide;
domestic logistics are the only logistics activities in the country. The
international logistics environment is more complex, extensive, and
international.
Domestic logistics only need a simple document and invoice to complete.
Still, international logistics procedures are complicated, and various
customs clearance documents need to be provided, such as customs
declarations, documents of origin, product inspection, etc. In addition,
international logistics also has strict requirements on the types of
transported products. For example, commodities such as liquids and
powders require many certification and audit documents and will also
become the focus of the customs.
>>>> Second, the complexity
International logistics requires multilingual operations in the
transportation process, mainly when products are transported through
multiple countries and logistics documents in multiple languages are
required. Although most countries currently use English as the standard
commercial language, individual countries require documents and customs
declarations in local languages, making international logistics
operations more difficult.
